6 Day Uganda Rwanda Gorilla Tour

Detailed Itinerary:
The 6 days Uganda and Rwanda gorilla tracking tour is designed to take you to the famous two gorilla tracking National Parks in East Africa. It will take you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda and Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. The safari will leave you with memories that you will never forget in your entire life.

Day 1: Arrival at the airport
On your arrival at the airport you will meet your tour guide who will brief you about the safari and then after he will transfer you to your respective Hotel/Lodge for Relaxation and also prepare for tomorrow’s safari to Bwindi impenetrable forest. Overnight stay at

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest:
The guide will pick you up from your hotel at 7.00am in the morning gets you briefed about the safari. Drive you to Southwestern part of Uganda via Mbarara town to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park .The drive will take about 8-10 hours drive. Make a first stopover at the Equator crossing for snacks and photography. Lunch break at Regency Hotel/Agip Motel Mbarara or its equivalent. Your drive will take you through Uganda’s rolling green hills, also known as the ‘Switzerland of Uganda’. You then drop down into a valley, to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the mountain gorillas. Arrive late evening, check in at the Hotel and relax. Dinner and an overnight stay

Day 3 Gorilla tracking:
After an early breakfast, proceed to the Park Headquarters for a short briefing before enjoying the Gorilla trekking. The time you take to get to the Gorillas is very unpredictable because they keep on moving as they search for food. It may take between 3 to 8 hours. A reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a strong pair of walking shoes, together with packed lunch and water. After, a guide will lead you to move inside the thick forest to search for the endangered mountain gorillas, possibly one of the most exciting and memorable encounter with the apes. on the way, you are entertained by baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, birds to mention but a few. You spend just an hour with the apes watching them as they do their daily activities such as feeding, playing among other. After a full satisfaction, come back to the lodge for relaxation. If you have energy this afternoon go for a guided village walk, see the local communities living around the park, (pygmy families) visit their homestead as they perform their cultural dance. Day4: Cross the boarder to Rwanda:
Enjoy your beautiful breakfast in the morning at the lodge, after embark on your journey through the rolling hills and beautiful scenery to Rwanda. And then transfer to Kinigi Park HeadquartersParc National des Volcans for gorilla tracking. Parc National des Volcans is one of the few countries that gather the few remaining mountain gorillas in the world and the golden monkeys plus various species of birds. Arrive in the afternoon and prepare for tomorrow’s activity that’s mountain gorilla tracking. Overnight stay

Day 5: Gorilla tracking at park National des Volcans:
Have breakfast and then you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a short briefing on the dos and don’ts while you are with the gorillas and also meet your ranger guide. After, get accompanied with a ranger guide who will lead you to the forest to begin the activity of searching these intelligent and giant apes for the group booked for. Some level of physical fitness is needed because it involves passing through muddy areas and thick forest. The time spent searching for these giants is unpredictable as it depends on their movements, but ounce you come across these gorillas you will forget all the troubles you have passed through and begin enjoying watching them. You may get them doing their daily activities such as feeding, playing, and mothers feeding their young ones. Watch their behaviors and also take photographs. The 1 hour spent with them is so rewarding. Return to the lodge for leisure. Or if you have the evening free you can go for the village walk and meet the local people that live around the park. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight

Day 6: Dian Fossey grave yard visit and transfer to the Airport:
Have a beautiful breakfast after; you will take a visit to the Dian Fossey Grave a prominent researcher who carried out research on the behaviors of these giant apes for the period of over 18 years. Visit also her research centre at Karisoke. After Proceed to Kigali city have lunch and then after proceed to Kanombe airport in order to meet your departure flight back home.
