5 Days Uganda Gorillas & Wildlife Safari

Day1: Drive to Bwindi National Park.
Depart from Kampala by road and head to South Western part of Uganda to Bwind Impenetrable National Park via Mbarara. Make a first stop over at the Equator crossing for an informative talk, snacks, as well as photographic opportunity. Lunch break at Mbarara town. Your drive will take you through Uganda’s rolling green hills through the highlands, also known as the ‘Switzerland of Uganda’ .We then drop down into a valley, to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the mountain gorillas. Arrive at the park in the late evening, check in at the Hotel/ Lodge for relaxation dinner and an overnight stay at;

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking.
After an early breakfast, proceed to the Park Headquarters for a short briefing before enjoying the Gorilla trekking .The time you take to get to the Gorillas is very unpredictable because they keep on moving as they search for food and water. It might take between 3 to 8 hours. A reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a walking stick, strong pair of walking shoes, packed lunch and water. After, a guide will lead you to move inside the thick forest to search for endangered mountain gorillas, possibly one of the most exciting and memorable encounter with the great apes. On the way, you are entertained by baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, birds to mention but a few. You spend just an hour with the apes watching them as they interact. After a full satisfaction, come back to the lodge for relaxation. If you have energy this afternoon go for a guided village walk, see the local communities living around the park, (Batwa) visit their homestead as they perform their traditional dance; women display their weaving skills to you among other activities. Note that the fees you pay for these performances go directly to improve the welfare of families around the park dinner and an overnight stay at;

Day 3: Depart to Queen Elizabeth National Park:
After a beautiful breakfast you will be driven to Queen Elizabeth National Park, its 3-4 hour’s drive. You will continue through the Southern sector of Queen Elizabeth known as Ishasha, its only here where you can spot tree-climbing lions. Ishasha is a remote and beautiful extension of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy lunch en rout. On the way to the Park you expect to come across various species such as buffaloes, topi among other species. Check in at the lodge. If time allows you can go for an evening game drive in the Kasenyi area of the park for an opportunity to spot various species of wildlife such as buffaloes, warthogs, lions, Uganda kobs, antelopes and many more. Come back to the Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at;

Day 4: Chimp tracking and launch cruise.
Have an early cup of coffee, leave for the 7.00am chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge. This may give you a chance to see various primate species most especially Chimpanzee our closet relatives and many other species of primates such as Black and white Colobus monkeys, Blue, Black Faced Red Colobus, olive baboons and many wild animals like, buffalo, hyenas, elephants, antelopes, and many more. A slow drive to the lodge for breakfast, relaxation and lunch: After lunch, you will embark on a two hour’s launch cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. The launch cruise may gift you with a chance to watch a thousand of hippos and crocodile that concentrate around the Lake. You may also see a variety of games drinking at the water’s edge such as Buffalo, warthogs and a great variety of birds on the shores including the open –billed stork, African Jacana, Great White and Pink-Backed Pelicans among others. Return to the Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at;

Day 5: Drive back to Kampala.
With previous day’s memories, get a heavy breakfast and then after you will be driven back to Kampala/Hotel/Entebbe and meet your departure flight back home,
