3 Days Mount Elgon Trek

The safari will begin and end in Kampala; it will take you to Mountain Elgon which is a massive solitary volcanic Mountain on the border of Eastern Uganda and Kenya. It has been an extinct volcano that first erupted more than 24 million years ago. With the largest surface area of any extinct Volcano in the World (50Km by 80Km), Mount Elgon is the highest fourth Mountain in East Africa. The park has wonderful waterfalls, caves, gorges. It has various peaks which include Sasa, Wagagai peak, Piswa, and Mude cave and many more. So climbing one of these peaks is such a memorable and an exciting moment in life one should not love to miss. Not forgetting various species of mammal which are found in the area such as elephant, buffalo, wild cut, bush duiker, hyena plus also a variety of small antelopes and forest monkeys including the black and white colobus, the blue monkey plus over 300 bird species of birds. These can be seen well through a game drive.

Day 1: Depart to Mount Elgon National Park.
Early in the morning, our safari tour guide will pick you up from your Hotel and drives you to Eastern part of Uganda, via Jinja and Mbale. The drive will take approximately 4-5 hours reaching in the afternoon at the Park. You will pass through Mabira forest one of the biggest forests in Uganda, tea and sugar plantations among others. You shall have lunch at Jinja Nile Resort /Sun Set Hotel, then after proceed to the Park. Check in for leisure. After go for an evening game drive which may offer you an opportunity to catch up with a variety of mammals that live within the park such as elephant, buffalo, wild cut, bush duiker, small antelopes and also forest monkeys can be seen during the game drive. Day 2: Mountain hike.
Early in the morning after a cup of tea /coffee, you will be lead by a guide/porter who will help you do the hike. It’s advised to pack food and water plus also Jungle walking shoes and rain gear are recommended. A day hike will allow you to explore Mount Elgon’s various mount forests. The popular forest exploration is (Sipi trailhead) which can make one enjoy the cool mist at Chebonet falls, Kapkwai cave, and amazing view point, which lies just beyond. The hike takes quite long and a high degree of fitness is required. After a full day of enjoyment, return back to the hotel/ lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at.

Day 3: Return to Kampala.
Have a morning breakfast and embark on your journey back home, this will be a total enjoyment day as you shall have a stop over at the River Nile; this is a spot where John Speke first discovered the source of the Nile river, have lunch at Sun set hotel Jinja. After proceed to your convenience place in Kampala/ Entebbe airport to meet your departure flight:
