18 Day Classic Uganda Rwanda Safari – Gorilla & Wildlife. On this adventurous tour,you will go gorilla trekking & wildlife viewing in both Uganda and Rwanda.The safari starts from Uganda and then ends in Kigali,Rwanda’s capital city.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at the airport
Upon your arrival at the airport you will be met and greeted by our tour company representatives who will then transfer you to your hotel in Kampala for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at 7.00am and drive you North-East through the famous Luweero Triangle. Reaching Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary at around mid day. If you’re interested you can go Rhino tracking which takes about one hour. After tracking you will continue to Masindi Town, lunch break at Kabalega Resort /New Court View Hotel or its equivalent. After proceed to the park stopping at the top of the falls which is an incredible sight. From here you will continue on, taking a ferry to cross the river up to your desirable Lodge.Game viewing on the way is very good; you may spot hippos, crocodile, elephants, buffalo, and birds among other animals seeing grazing around the sand bank arriving at the Park in the evening. Day 3: Game drive and launch cruise:
Wake up early for breakfast; after the guide will lead you to the forest to watch up with a variety of animals that hide out within the tropical forest. Expect to watch Rothschild’s giraffe, buffaloes, Uganda kob, hyena, oribis, warthog, jackals, and leopard among others. Return to the lodge for full breakfast and lunch. After lunch and relaxation, you will go by a boat trip up to the bottom of the great Murchison Falls. Expect to get close to a variety of animals over 4000 amazing hippos, in addition to some huge Nile crocodiles, Antelopes, elephants, lots of birds including the fish eagle, storks, if lucky you may see the rare shoebills and so many more. Day 4: Murchison Falls-Kibale Forest National Park.
After a gorgeous breakfast you will be driven through Masind, Hoima towns to arrive in time for lunch in Fortportal. The journey from Murchison to Kibale takes about 7-8 hours drive. After lunch proceed to Kibale Forest National Park which is about 35 kms from Fortportal dinner and an overnight stay at.

Day 5 Chimpanzee tracking and nature walk to Bigodi swamp walk
Have a cup of tea /coffee, after report to a ranger station at 7.00am for a short briefing about chimp trekking. Chimp tracking can take half a day searching for them and other primates. These funny apes, more closely related to humans than to any other living creature, are fabulous fun to watch as they play in fruiting trees. During the walk you may stop to listen to the calls of the chimps to avoid bypassing them in the dense forest. Other primates such as black and white Colobuses, the rare L’hoest monkey, bush baby, baboons and mammals like elephant, butterflies can be seen. And bird lovers may also have a chance to spot various species of birds like the yellow spotted nicator, rumped tinker birds among other. Come back at the hotel for lunch and relaxation.
After lunch, take a visit to Bigodi swamp sanctuary for a nature walk which may reward you with a chance to see over 229 tree species found within the wet tropical forests of the park. Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park:
Have a morning breakfast then after youwill be transferred to Queen Elizabeth national park. Day 7: Game drive and lunch cruise:
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will be lead by a tour guide who will drive you to Kasenyi area of the park for a game drive. Expect to see lions, elephants, leopard, buffaloes, and warthog, antelopes, Uganda kobs plus various species of birds. A slow drive back to the lodge for full breakfast and relaxation by the side of the pool. In the evening take a two hour’s launch cruise on to the Kazinga channel the connects lake Edward and George, while on the boat expect to see huge hippos and crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, primates, and various species of birds such as malachite kingfishers, pelicans backed pelicans, and, saddle billed stork and many others, if lucky you can come a cross a rare shoe bill. Day 8 Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest.
Have breakfast at the lodge and then after you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest home of the few surviving mountain gorillas in the world. The park is also gifted by various species of birds; it supports 24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics that occur in Uganda. You will pass through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National park known as Ishasha famously known for its tree-climbing lions try to spot them out and enjoy lunch by the Ishasha River. Day 9 Gorilla tracking in Bwindi impenetrable forest
After an early breakfast, proceed to the Park Headquarters for a briefing before go Gorilla trekking. The time you take to get to the Gorillas is very unpredictable because they keep on moving as they search for food. It may take between 2 to 9 hours. You spend just an hour with the apes’ ounce found. After a full satisfaction, come back to the lodge for leisure. Day 10 Transferto Lake Bunyonyi:
Enjoy an early breakfast and then after; the tour guide will transfer you to Lake Bunyonyi via Kabale. Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest lake in Uganda and the 2nd in Africa. The Park derived it’ name because of the very many small birds that inhabit the lake hence its name Lake Bunyonyi. This area is often called “Little Switzerland of Uganda” and boosts one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Upon your arrival after lunch, you can take a canoe ride to the various islands that are found around and on the lake. Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi- Rwanda.
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will first visit the local markets in Kibale and also the Bakiga cultural museum. After cross the boarder to Rwanda NB. (Watch will go back ward one hour). Day12: Gorilla tracking in volcanoes National Park
Have a beautiful breakfast before heading to the rain forest to track the mountain gorillas. After breakfast, report to the park Headquarter and get briefed about the dos and don’ts while you are with the gorillas and also meet your park rangers. The experience is exciting as you’re going to meet these intelligent and huge apes for the group you booked for. Some level of physical fitness is required as the hike will involve passing through the thick and muddy forest and also ought to climb hills in order to have a glance at them. The activity is so tiresome but too satisfying as you will watch them doing their every day activities such as playing, mother feeding their young ones among others. Day 13: Golden monkey tracking
After breakfast, report to the park headquarters to get briefed about gorilla tracking. After you will head to the forest together with your ranger guide to begin the searching. You either follow Kabatwa at the base of Sabyinyo or Musanga at the base of Karisimbi. These golden monkeys are the most endangered primates in the volcanoes. And tracking can take between 1-7 hours and ounce found you strictly allowed staying with them for only one hour. Other primates are also expected to be seen during the tracking such as the Olive Baboon, Grey-cheeked mangabay among other plus also various species of birds. Day 14: Dian Fossey and Lake Kivu

Day 16: Transfer to Nyungwe forest National Park:
You will leave volcanoes National Park in the morning after a full served breakfast. Then head to Nyungwe National Park for primate watch. Nyungwe National Park is one of the mountainous rain forests in Africa with over 13 species of primates coupled with the chimps, black and white colobus monkey, and Angolan colobus monkey among other. Make a stopover at Butare and Nyanza the historical and cultural site. Day 17: Chimpanzee tracking/ Canopy walk in Nyungwe forest National Park:
Have a cup of tea/coffee, after report to the park headquarters to meet your guide and also to get information about chimp tracking. After head to the forest to begin searching the chimps. Some level of physical fitness is required because it may involve passing through muddy and thick forest. The activity is tiresome although rewarding. Tracking can take between 1-6 hours. Meeting our closest relatives the chimps is one of the unforgettable experiences. The park is a home of over 13 species of primates including the chimps, Angolan Colobus, Olive Baboon, Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, monkey, golden, Vervet monkeys, Hamlyn’s Monkey, Silver Monkey, Red-tailed Monkey among other plus also various species of birds such as orange and white birds, great blue Turaco, forest Hornbills, among others can be viewed. The guide will provide relevant information not only to the chimps but also to other fauna and flora that live in the forest to make the safari not only interesting but also educative and informative.
